JUZEPPE VERDY
(10.10.1813-27.01.1901)

The work of the famous composer Giuseppe Verdi is one of the greatest achievements of the world opera art and the culmination of the development of the Italian opera of the XIX century. The composer lived a long life and composed 26 operas, requiems, cantatas, string quartets, vocal ensembles, romances and songs. Verdi's work as a patriot composer was related to the public life of Italy. It was no coincidence that he was called "the Italian revolution maestro".
Operas of the great composer “Rigoletto”, “Trubadour”, “Traviata”, “Don Carlos”, “Aida”, “Otello” and others - rare pearls of world culture. His works are currently being put in theaters of the world. The embodiment of Verdi operas in any theater is an expression of the talent and potential of this creative team. Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater sometimes addresses Verdi operas. It is proud to say that such magnificent performances as Otello, Rigoletto, Don Carlos, Aida, who once decorated our stage, won the sympathy of art lovers with both their artistic value and unique performance lead vocalists.
Today we present to you some materials from the collections of the State Museum of Musical Culture of Azerbaijan reflecting the production of operas by famous composer Giuseppe Verdi in Azerbaijan.
