National Music Day
September 18 is National Music Day in our country. On this day, the founder of Azerbaijan's professional music, the author of the first opera in the East, the brilliant composer Uzeir Gajibeili was born. By decree of the National leader Heydar Aliyev of September 18, 1995, this holiday is held annually in the country. This year is especially that Uzeir-beka's birthday will also be celebrated in free Shusha, where he was born and raised for the first time after thirty years of occupation. At the same time, I am glad that Heydar Aliyev Foundation has re-installed a monument to Uzeir Gajibeili at the place of the monument to the composer who was destroyed by Armenians during the occupation of Shusha.
On September 17, 2021, the State Museum of Music together with Baku Academy held an event on the occasion of the National Music Day.
The director of the museum, a candidate of art, a well-deserved figure of culture Alla Bayramova, gave an opening speech.
During the event, a concert program performed by the Ensemble of ancient musical instruments of the Museum and soloists of the folk artist Teyub Aslanov, Honored Artist Nuria Huseynova, teachers of Baku Academy of Music Nargiz Kangerli, Lilia Imanova, Maryam Yusifova and their students Mirkhalid Mamedzadeh, Lala Ibrahimova and Emin Ismailov. A slide show reflecting the creative path of Uzeir Gadzhibeyli and Muslim Magomaev was demonstrated.
