On September 10, 2021, the President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev signed an order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Mikail Abdullayev.
In December 2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Mikail Huseyn oglu Abdullayev, the outstanding representative of Azerbaijani fine art, the people's artist of the USSR and the Azerbaijan Republic, the Academy of Arts of the USSR, the winner of the State Award.
Mikail Abdullayev is one of the great figures of the Azerbaijani art school. His colorful works, covering various fields of fine art, occupy a special place in the treasure of our people's cultural heritage. In numerous thematic paintings, landscapes and still lifes, the artist rang the beauty of his native nature, created unique monumental paintings based on the poem of the great Nizami "Hams". His series of portraits and brilliant illustrations for classic literary works, created with deep love for Azerbaijani literature, is an expression a new line of the artist formed at the intersection of progressive traditions of Eastern and Western art. His works, successfully exhibited in prestigious exhibition halls, museums and galleries around the world, speak about Mikail Abdullayev as the owner of real talent.
We present you a VIRTUAL EXHIBITION about Mikail Abdullayev from the rich collection of Azerbaijan State Museum of Musical Culture. Some of these materials are shown in the museum branch, the Niyazi Museum Apartment.
