ASHIG PANAH PANAH

In connection with the decree of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev “On the 200th anniversary of Ashig Alesker” dated February 18, 2021 Azerbaijan State Museum of Music Culture continues the section “Azerbaijan's Ashig art in museum materials”.
Introducing Ashig Panakhov's outstanding representative of Azerbaijani Ashiga art in the museum of photography.
Ashig Panakh Panakhov is one of the famous masters of Ashiga art of Mugan-Salian region. He studied with Ashig Gurban Sadigov for several years and at that time he mastered the secrets of Ashuga art, melodies, and dastanov, and formed himself as a master. Ashig Panakh formed an ensemble and led a group of ashugs. The Ashiga ensemble “Cur” is connected with his name. In 1950-1970, it was especially distinguished among ashugas, took part in many festivals. He was awarded the honorary title of a well-deserved figure of culture. Ashig Panakh often spoke at regional and national events, and through his art he became a propagandist of political and cultural processes. He composed a lot of Ashuga songs (“Ana Curyum”, “Salian Gesellemesi”, “Panah of Gesellmesi” and others). Ashig Panah was a member of the Writers Union.
