Life Continued in Music: Trees and Musical Instruments
On May, 16 The State Museum of Musical Culture of Azerbaijan organized the celebration of the International Museum Day. The event was named Life Continued in Music: Trees and Musical Instruments dedicated to the International Museum Day.
The event was opened by Dr.Alla Bayramova, the director of the State Museum of Musical Culture of Azerbaijan. The head the museum department Azerbaijani Traditional Musical Instruments Tarana Zeynalova informed about the exhibition. The Ensemble of Old Musical Instruments of the State Museum of Musical Culture of Azerbaijan performed folk music. The makers and investigators of traditional musical instruments Mammadali Mammadov, Elshad Rashidoglu (Rzayev), Abbasqulu Najafzade, Arif Azerturk and others talked about the Azerbaijani national wooden instruments and their characteristics.
Wood samples which are used for making musical instruments were shown at the exhibition. A concert program and a slide show related to the general theme were the attracting attention parts of the event.
