Niyazi 94
Every year in August, the State Museum of Azerbaijan Musical Culture makes arrangements dedicated to the memory of the eminent composer and conductor - maestro Niyazi. On 18 August, 2006 the event was traditionally held in the Niyazi Apartment-Museum which is a branch of the Museum. At the beginning of the evening the romance "Arzu" by Niyazi was performed by Farida Mammadova. The event was opened with the opening ceremony speech by Museum's Director Alla Bayramova. Then Farah Aliyeva - the Head of the Music Sector of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism - told about maestro Niyazi's creativity. People's Artist, professor Azer Rzayev, Secretary of the Union of Azerbaijan Composers, professor Ramiz Zohrabov and others were speaking about reminiscences concerning Niyazi's life. In the concert part of the programme the pupils of musical school ¹35 named after G.G.Sharoyev performed compositions for piano by Niyazi. The event participants greeted with loud applause the overture to the Opera "Ashig Garib" by Zulfigar Hajibeyov performed by Baku Musical Academy's senior lecturer Ulviyya Hajibeyova and "Prelude" (Dedication to Niyazi).
