"Shusha Musicians" - Afrasiyab Badalbeyli
In accordance with the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on declaring 2022 as the "Year of Shusha" in the Republic of Azerbaijan,The State Museum of Musical Culture of Azerbaijan continues the rubric "Shusha Musicians" about the musicians of the city of Shusha.
In today's rubric, we present brief information about the composer, conductor, musicologist, People's artist of Azerbaijan Afrasiyab Badalbeyli (19.04.1907 – 06.01.1976) and some materials kept in the museum's collection.
Afrasiyab Badalbeyli - author of the first Azerbaijani ballet Maiden’s Tower, 1940, two operas (Nizami, Soyudlar Aqlamaz), symphonic poem, music fo drama plays (Haji Qara, In 1905, Farhad and Shirin), etc. Conducted operas and ballets of Azerbaijani and European composers.
