Nizami and music

2012 is the year of the 870th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker, founder of the Azerbaijan Literature Nizami Ganjevi. According to the order of President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev a series of events took place at the State Museum of Azerbaijan Musical Culture.
The director of museum, Ph.D., honored worker of culture Alla Bayramova, has participated in the conference “Literature and music” organized by International Committee of Literary and Composers Museums (ICLM) and Fondazione Chiaravalle Montessori in Chiaravalle (Ancona, Italy) on the 26th-29th of September 2011 with presentation titled “Nizami and music”. She also participated in the scientific-practical conference "Nizami-870" in the Regional Scientific Center of Azerbaijan National Academy of sciences in Ganja (1-2 November 2011).
January 11, 2012 the meeting in the “Club of classical music lovers” was dedicated to theme of "Nizami and music." The evening was opened by Alla Bayramova with report “Details of the implementation of the musical themes in “Khamsa” by Nizami”. Then the director of the State Museum of Azerbaijan Carpet and Applied Arts, Doctor of Arts, Professor Roya Tagiyeva made the report: “Images of Nizami in carpet art”.
Reports were accompanied by a slide show on the materials from the museum collection, the fragments from the ballet “Seven Beauties” by Kara Karaev. The works of Azerbaijani composers in the words of Nizami were presented at the event further: “Adagio” from the ballet “Seven Beauties”, performed by a student of musical school named Bulbul, laureate of international competitions Ceyla Seidova; romances "Nedendir" and "Dilbar" by Jeyhun Allahverdiyev, performed by the soloist of the Azerbaijan State Opera and Ballet Theatre Afaq Abbasova. Guests of the event were members of the “Club of classical music lovers”, musicologists, museum staff, representatives of media and others.
