TO THE 135TH ANNIVERSARY OF UZEYIR HAJIBEYLI AND MUSLIM MAGOMAYEV
Today we continue a series of issues dedicated to the Azerbaijani composers, coryphaei of Azerbaijani music. This time, from the rich collections of our museum, we present photographs of these two coryphaei with their spouses.
It should be noted that Uzeyir Hajibeyli's wife Maleyka khanum and Muslim Magomayev's wife Badigul-Jamal khanum were sisters and representatives of the famous Teregulov family.
The fate lines of U.Hajibeyıi and M.Magomayev were intertwined. Both were born same day of the same year, 18 September, 1885, studied together at the Gori Teachers Seminary (Gori, Georgia, The Russian Empire), and both married the sisters of Ali Teregulov, their classmate at the Seminary.
