The Masterpieces of UNESCO in Moscow: Azeri Mugam

On April 7, 2010, a meeting was organized by the representatives of The Fund of Heydar Aliyev and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the Russian Federation. The meeting was addressed by Leyla-hanum Aliyeva, deputy minister of Culture Andrey Eugenyevich Busigin, the ambassador of Azerbaijan in Russia Polad Bulbuloglu. The exhibition from the fund of the State Central Museum of Musical Culture named after Glinka - “The Masterpieces of UNESCO in Moscow: Azeri Mugam” was demonstrated and a movie was shown. A member of the museum staff Tamila Janizade made a speech on mugam. The concert program included the young musicians from Azerbaijan. They performed mugams and ashug music. A treaty was signed on the cooperation between the Azerbaijan State Museum of Music Culture and the State Central Museum of Music Culture named after Glinka. The treaty was signed by the directors of the museums Alla Bayramova and Mikhail Brizgalov. The participants included representatives of embassies, cultural professionals (including the People’s Artist of USSR Vladislav Piavko, singer Diana Gurtskaya, representative of the channel “Kultura” Vladislav Flyarkovskiy), professorial staff of Moscow Conservatoire, representatives of Azeri Diaspora, the staff of the journal “Baku” and others.
