The Uzeyir Memorial Day

The State Museum of Azerbaijan Musical Culture celebrated traditionally Uzeyir's Memorial Day on 18 September - birthday of the founder of professional music, scientist, teacher, public figure Uzeyir Hajibeyov. On 18 September, 2006, the exhibition under the name "The national musical instruments in Azerbaijan Fine Arts" dedicated to Uzeyir's Memorial Day was opened in the Central Exhibition Hall named after Sattar Bahlulzade. The State Museum of Azerbaijan Musical Culture provided that exhibition with exhibits from its fund. Among the displayed objects were such musical instruments as tar, kamancha, bam tar, saz, gaval, gopuz, chagana, santur, ud, zulfar, asa tar; drawings - portraits of tar performers Bahram Mansurov, Gurban Pirimov, Hamid Malibeyli, Ahsan Dadashov, Mammadkhan Bakikhanov, Singer Rahila Hasanova, Kanun Performer Asya Taghiyeva, Ashig Amrah Gyulmammadov, Kamancha performer Habil Aliyev by Adil Rustamov, Tar Performer Meshadi Jamil Amirov's portrait by Aykhan Rasulov, Ashig Peri's portrait by Tamilla Daghistanly; illustrations depicting the festival of dancers from the book "Mushaffar's Govhartaj" taken from Mir Movsun Navvab's archives. The Ensemble of the Ancient Musical Instruments presented a diverse concert program in the exhibition.
